The Prophet ﷺ said
When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.
Narrated by Abū Hurayrah (raḍiyAllāhu ʿanhu) · Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1899
مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ
“Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.”
Narrated by Abū Hurayrah (raḍiyAllāhu ʿanhu) · Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 38
Begin in Shaʿbān
Prepare your heart before the moon is sighted.
The best Ramadans are planned for. A little preparation now means arriving at the first night rested, focused, and ready to give the month everything.
- قَضَاء
Make up missed fasts
If you owe days from last Ramadan, aim to complete your qaḍāʾ before the new month arrives.
- القُرآن
Return to the Qur’an
Set a small daily portion now so that your recitation is already flowing when Ramadan begins.
- صِيَام
Ease into fasting
Keep some voluntary fasts in Shaʿbān and shift toward earlier nights and earlier mornings.
- صَدَقَة
Plan your giving
Set aside your zakāt and ṣadaqah ahead of time so your generosity reaches those in need when it matters most.
