The committee's work is organized into four areas. Each opens its own page with details, links, and a person you can reach.
Not sure where to start? Book a free, confidential referral appointment — not therapy, a conversation that ends with a referral to the right professional. Includes Nasihah Corner, a monthly sit-down with a counselor at the Page Road campus.
Open referrals → Coming soonPeer circles run by trained volunteers: Hope Sisters (self-care and self-compassion), Sakinah Sisters (young adult sisters, 25–40), and Perinatal Peace (pregnancy through postpartum, children 0–3). Registration is free.
Open support groups →A sub-committee with its own suite of services: a Muhsen-certified campus, Sunday school for special-needs children, and the SuperMoms parent support group.
Open special needs → Coming soonThe provider directory, brochures on grief and on stress, anxiety & depression in children, recorded presentations in English and Arabic, and the committee's social channels.

The Health & Wellness Committee is a group of Muslim health professionals and organizers who volunteer their time so the community has somewhere to turn — for mental health, physical health, and the questions in between.
To promote spiritual, emotional, and mental health by strengthening our community through education, advocacy, and empowerment. We integrate religion and spirituality in a holistic approach to wellness, and use psychoeducation and strength-based tools so people can work toward their own health and wellness goals.
Our visionA community where mental, physical, psychological, spiritual, and emotional wellness resources are accessible to all.
Questions, suggestions, and requests all go to the same place.
Programs & events
The committee's standing services and this month's health events. The four area pages above hold the full details for each.
The most common need
The committee maintains a directory of Muslim therapists and psychiatrists, low-cost counseling, Arabic-speaking providers, online counselors, and resources for domestic-abuse survivors and refugees. Referral appointments are matched to what you actually need — type of therapy, insurance, age group, language. If it feels overwhelming, book one and a team member will walk through it with you.
Open to everyone — most need no registration. Health events and support-group sessions, taken from IAR’s weekly email.
Get involved
Every referral appointment, support-group session, and blood drive is run by community members who give their time. Clinicians are especially needed — but so are organizers, drivers, and people who can staff a table at a health fair.
